Cedar Waxwing

Cedar Waxwing with red berries

The Cedar Waxwing is often seen traveling in large flocks from fruit tree to fruit tree, feeding on berries in the cold winter months of  New England.  Their plumage appears soft and blended. The   secondary quills have horny drop-shaped tips which resemble sealing wax.

This waxwing is held in private collection.
